I Need
To Talk To
God.

‘I Need To Talk To God’ is a powerful story about the the black migrant experience and the struggle of finding belonging, acceptance and a sense of identity as a black diaspora here in the UK.

The story is told through a young Cameerionian narrator who shares his internal world, from his memories of home to hoping to ‘bloom’ when spring comes, through a poem. The film follows him as he smashes an object in the rural British forest and flashes backs to moments in his life where comfort and love existed.

‘I Need To Talk To God’ was part of a challenge set by Apple Creative London and Fully Focused Productions to create a short film in 4 weeks using only an iPhone. The film was first privately screened in Finsbury Park Picture House, then released on Apple TV for the public and now has recently been featured in GUAP Magazine.
